For Mombasa 2011, APRA Nigeria holds forum in Abuja

AS part of efforts to create awareness for this year's All Africa Public Relations Conference holding between November 23 and 26, 2011 in Mombasa, Kenya, the Nigerian chapter of the Africa Public Relations Association (APRA) will hold a luncheon on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at at Rockview (Royale) Hotels, Abuja.The conference in Mombasa, which is a precursor to APRA's 40th anniversary celebration, is expected to discuss a variety of perspectives and issues around Public Relations and communication management practice in Africa.The planning committee headed by the APRA General Secretary, Dr. Wole Adamolekun said the choice of Public Relations & Communication Management in a Regulated Environment; the Opportunities, as the theme of the conference is influenced by the prediction that the 21st Century may see the resurgence of more regulatory guidelines with governments across the globe pushing for laws to govern business enterprises. These guidelines are set to impact the public relations industry.'As a result, this forum presents the opportunity for Public Relations practitioners across the continent to engage in positive conversation in the growth and future course of the profession in the 21st century dynamics of business regulations. Based on the foregoing, the Nigerian arm of APRA is organising a luncheon for its Nigerian members scheduled for October 15, 2011 at Rockview (Royale) Hotels, Abuja,' said Adamolekun in a statement.The luncheon, he explained further, would be an interactive platform for Nigeria national association member in preparation for the upcoming conference/AGM in Mobsassa Kenya.
