Jigawa votes N939m for street lights

THE Jigawa State government has committed about N939,840, 965.65 to the provision of street lights in nine urban centres across the state.The state Commissioner for Information Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim Gumel who made the disclosure after the executive council meeting said it was part of the administration's effort to provide the urban centres with a befitting street lighting system.He listed the benefiting centres to include Babura with contract cost of N121, 104, 112.50; Gwaram/Sabowa at the cost of N210, 082,179; Babandoki at N89 million; Kaugama N169 million and Kiyawa N128 million.Others, he said, included the construction of street lights for Maigateri at N116 million and Roni N125 million.He said the government also engaged the services of two consultancy companies at the cost of N20 million to oversee the contracts for due diligence in order to meet with standards.
