Nigerian Carnival, UK, plans grand reception for Mrs Jonathan 'Andrew Rosindell, MP, to address press conference at House of Common.

The organisers of the first Nigerian Carnival in the United Kingdom, Nigeria Carnival UK, (NCUK), Central Association of Nigerians in UK, (CANUK) and Arik Air are not leaving anything to chances in making sure that the event slated for October 15, 2011 records a memorable success.A press release made available to Tribune Tourism Magazine by the Association of Nigerians in UK (CANUK) Publicity Secretary, Mr Shola Ogunseitan, said, 'The pre- Nigerian carnival conference will take place on Friday, October 14 at the House of Commons, London, between 2.30 and 5.30 pm.Mr Ogunseitan revealed that Mr Andrew Rosindell, a Member of Parliament, would address the press on behalf of Nigerian carnivals UK Limited (NCUK) and the Central Association of Nigerians in UK (CANUK), a programme being sponsored by Arik Air.According to him, the conference will feature presentations by NCUK on the carnival taking place at the Leyton Marsh Fields the following day on Saturday, 15 October between 10.00am and 6.00pm.The press conference, Mr Ogunseitan disclosed, would also have in attendance Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan, who will flag off the event, billed to showcase the rich diversity of Nigeria's cultural-tourism and arts, with the huge reception being planned for her by all Nigerians in the UK and the Chief Host of the carnival, His Excellency, Dr Sarki DalhatuTafida(OFR), Nigeria's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.'In fact, preparatory the carnival and the attendance of the First Lady, the Nigerian High Commission in London is working with the community as represented by CANUK to ensure that our First Lady has the best reception ever recorded by Nigeria in the UK for a visiting First Lady and to ensure that the event is properly delivered.The conference will show the ever-increasing unity of the Nigerian UK community as they come together under CANUK whose mission is to 'Protect, Unite and Empower' the estimated three million Nigerians, and Nigeria-related organisations in the British Isles.'Ogunseitan pointed out that the press conference would also highlight the substantial support the Nigerian community receives from corporate sponsors, notably ARIK AIR, Nigeria's leading airline which is the headline sponsor of the 2011 UK Nigerian carnival.He revealed that Arik Air which is the leading corporate supporter of the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom would also use the occasion to unveil its UK Ambassador, charity partnership with the Sodje Sports Foundation and support of the London Nigerian Rugby Club.
