BB Waleed wins ticket to Red Bull dance contest

THE career of Jordan's B Boy Waleed has got a boost as he has won the regional competition of the Red Bull BreaKing break dance duel. The regional competition held last Friday at the Roman Amphitheatre, Jerash, witnessed what has been described as its grand and stylish finale marrying modernity and tradition. At the end, Waleed was crowned as the Arab and Middle East Ambassador to the 'Red Bull BC One' Championship, the leading 'Break Dance' competition in the world.A statement from the organisers indicates that the final competition hosted Friday night in the Jordanian historical city of Jerash witnessed some of the most exciting 'Break Dance' duals, as 16 of the best Arab 'BBoys' (the local champion and the runner up from each participating country) fiercely battled till the end.The participating countries included Qatar, Oman, UAE. Kuwait, Jordan, KSA, Lebanon and Egypt.The statement adds, 'The dual face-offs in the first round were extremely tight, to reflect the sophisticated level of 'break dance' competitions in the region. Performances continued in an unrivalled interaction between the 'BBoys' and the massive crowd, which filled the Roman Amphitheatre, as it reached more than four thousand spectators. Distance didn't stand in the way of the fans, who gathered from all over Jordan and other countries to follow the peak of the competition in Jerash, in an exceptional evening that joined the scenic nobility of history with the aspirations of future generations.'It adds that every 'BBoy' had two opportunities to show his skills in the first round, and three chances starting as of the quarter finals, which featured the best eight out of the original 16. The face-to-face competitions went on based on the 'knock-out' move, which would eliminate the looser. In the semi-finals, BBoy Waleed from Jordan won over BBoy Shady from Kuwait in a first round, while BBoy Klash from Egypt knocked out BBoy Phase from Oman on the other round.The level of the competition reached high summits in the final dual where competitors showed their best moves and daring dances while stirring the cheering crowd, before announcing the regional winner of 'Red Bull BreaKing', BBoy Waleed who will attend the finals of 'Red Bull BC One' in Moscow, on November 26.
