Telcos promo incentives speed up SIM registration

The tempo of the SIM card registration exercise in the country is being boosted by a handful of incentive providing promos of the telephone networks. MTN Nigeria subscribers, anxious for a bite of the companys recently launched N1 billion reward scheme, have increased the rate at which they are turning out to register their subscriber identity modules (SIM) cards. Senior MTN sources told Business Day at the weekend that reports coming in from its SIM registration points around the country, showed a marked upsurge in SIM registration rates.
