NURTW, stakeholders end crisis in Oyo 'Ban Tokyo, Auxiliary

IT was a joyful momentat the national headquarters of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), on Wednesday, as all stakeholders and members of the union in Oyo State voted to end factional groups in the union and publicly embraced one another to end years of protracted crisis that led to the death of many people in the state.After a long meeting on Wednesday, all the members, who belong to different factions resolved to end factional groupings, and agreed to work together to ensure peace.They also agreed to start afresh under a new leadership in the interest of the union and the state.The meeting was at the instance of the national leadership of the NURTW, led by its president, Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin, who read the decisions arrived at during the meeting.To this end, Alhaji Yasin called on the governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, to lift the ban placed on the union and its activities.He also announced the ban on both Lateef Akinsola (Tokyo) and Mukaila Lamidi (Auxiliary), a move which all the stakeholders and members applauded as a right step in the right direction.
