Oyo natural resources ministry can generate N300m monthly 'Commissioner

COMMISSIONER in charge of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Oyo State, Fatai Abimbola, has said that the ministry can generate up to the tune of N300 million, if the blueprint of the ministry is adequately implemented.He made this assertion on Thursday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State council secretariat, Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan, when he led other officials of the ministry on a courtesy call.Abimbola noted: 'We have series of plans and objectives which I believe if adequately utilised the ministry can generate up to N300 million. Presently, we are generating N8 million monthly, even though the ministry was just created.'He further stated that 'we are looking for a way of bailing out our state from depending on oil revenue. We are looking forward to a situation, where we can generate huge amount of money through the natural resources that abound in the state,' he said.In his welcome address, chairman, Oyo NUJ, Mr Gbenga Opadotun, represented by the vice chairman, Mr Olusegun Adeyemo, pledged the union's support for the ministry, adding that 'we are assuring you of our unalloyed support for the ministry of natural resources by promoting your various activities.By doing this, the general public will be educated and sensitised on the need to cooperate with you in order to achieve optimum results.
