Man faces theft charge

Lagos State Police Command on Thursday arraigned a 25-year-old man, Justice Gaglozu, for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing an electrical conduit wire worth N384,000.The defendant, of no fixed address, appeared at an Ikeja Magistrates Court on a three-count charge of breaking in, wilful damage and stealing.He denied committing the offences.Prosecuting Inspector Matthew Akhaluode said the defendant committed the offences on June 21 at 1, Kamoru Ajibade Street, Ipaja, Lagos.Read Also:Operator gets four years for car theftHe alleged that the defendant broke into the house of Mr. Karimu Bashiru and stole his electrical conduit wire.Gaglozu cut the wire into pieces where it was installed and stole it.Magistrate Mrs. A. A. Adetunji admitted the defendant to N150, 000 bail with two sureties in the like sum.She said the sureties should be employed and haveevidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.The case continues on September 2.
