Fayemi is inaugurating Oni's projects -Ekiti PDP 'They don't deserve response -Govt

Published by Tribune on Sat, 15 Oct 2011

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)in Ekiti State has said that the Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, is only inaugurating projects initiated by the immediate past administration in the state, led by Chief Segun Oni, without initiating any of his own.Chairman of the PDP in the state, Chief Bola Olu-Ojo, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, said the 'planned commissioning of projects initiated and almost completed by the Chief Oni-led PDP government is deceitful having failed to add any block to the building of Ekiti since he assumed office.'But the state government, in a reaction, said both Olu-Ojo and the membership of his party 'do not deserve a respon-se.'The state Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mr Funminiyi Afuye, who reacted on behalf of the state government, said: 'Olu-Ojo and co do not deserve a response because he did not mention projects commissioned that were built by Oni,' adding that 'he should mention any of the projects commissioned by Dr Kayode Fayemi which he did not conceive and execute up to at least 90 per cent.'Afuye added that 'again, government is a continuous process. Is he saying that we should just allow Ekiti people's money to just waste away''Olu-Ojo had said in the statement that 'instead of embarking on self-deceit by commissioning projects already executed to almost 90 percent level before he took office, Fayemi should be honest enough to admit his failure and apologise to Ekiti people.
