Chairman of Ejgibo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Kehinde Bamigbetan, who is vying for a second term on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), lists his next line of action.THERE are allegations that you were imposed on the members by the party leadership'Our emergence was procedural and in line with the outcome of the party congress. This is not about imposition. Why then are some people insisting that you were imposed on them, hence their protest against your comeback'It is a very large party, so normally there will always be the minority. The rule of democracy is that the majority will have their way, while the minority will have their say. But sometimes, you have a minority that is unwilling to go along with the majority.I think whenever a party publishes the list of successful candidates, it is the responsibility of a good party member to accept the decision of the party and hope to contest another time. Those that are not supportive of the party's decision are not loyal party members. What are you doing to reconcile with them'The first and foremost is to reconcile and revive the party structures. We started this by convening the meeting of the ward executives, because that is where the power of the party lies, where the party's position was reaffirmed, accepted and supported. We also had a meeting of elders and leaders of the party, where the same position was reaffirmed.Right now, the only segment we need to talk to is the youths, and we will also hold a meeting with them along the same line very soon. Are they listening'Well, some of them are listening. Everyday, people have been coming to accept the reality that they cannot go against the position of the party.Do you consider any party a threat to ACN in the election'There are two opposition parties that are visible in Lagos State- the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Nigeria People Party (ANPP).But at least four different groups within the PDP have moved into ACN in the past two months, based on the works we are doing. All over the place, the PDP structure has started collapsing. In the same way, the ANPP had some showing in the last election, but as of now, their structure is very weak; they cannot stand the capacity of the ACN.Considering this, those in the minority are very insignificant. It is not a 50/50 situation; it is a 90/10 situation. What would be your priority in your second term'We spent the first term reactivating roads that were totally impassable before, but are now passable. The next step is to get these roads tarred. We have committed ourselves to tarring 30 roads, at least 10 roads per year within the space of three years. We are also looking the issue of the link bridge, because we have succeeded in getting the state government to help in constructing the bridge, which we have designed within the last three years for us to build. We intend to launch the first ever jetty in the Ejigbo LCDA and also want to establish a ferry service to take advantage of the waterways to links FESTAC with the Island. We are also trying to improve the council revenue by having an interstate motor-park and create a mortuary service, at the same time develop a cow market. In term of welfare services, we are promising to place 300 youths in jobs in the space of three years at the rate of 100 youths per year.
