(Leek and potato with pumpkin stew)THE main components of the urinary system are two kidneys, two ureters, a urinary bladder, two sphincter muscles and the urethra. Each of these organs performs some specific functions, which is associated with the removal of waste products from the body in the form of urine and maintaining blood volume (regulate blood pressure).If the waste product like urine is not constantly removed, it can be poisonous to the body and can result to death. For the urinary system to function well and carryout all these essential activities, one must eat good nutritious and a balanced diet that are rich in vitamins and potassiumOne of the best dishes, which nature has provided us to help cleanse, detoxify and restore health to the urinary system is leek and potato with pumpkin stew. It is mainly made up of vegetables which are rich in potassium, fibre, vitamin A, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin B6, folate, iron, calcium and manganese and we all known that they have diuretic effect (increase the discharge of urine).Leek, one of the main ingredients of this recipe belongs to the same botanical family as onions and garlic, and it contains essential nutrients that promote healthy urinary and cardiovascular system.Intake of leek, potato and pumpkin stew stimulates urine production, cleanses and purifies the blood. It is also good for the stomach and the intestine as it neutralises excess acidity, facilities digestion and also supplies fibre, which regulates the bowel movement and prevents constipation or infrequent passing of hard stool (faeces).Regular intake of leek and potato with pumpkin stew is recommended for those that want healthy heart and arteries because it has low fat and no cholesterol. Wash thoroughly with running water while separating the leaves in order to clean any possible dirt from inside.Cut the leeks in 2-3cm cubes.Heat the water.
