Boko Haram: Cleric urges Jonathan to turn to God

Published by Tribune on Mon, 17 Oct 2011

President Goodluck Jonathan has been urged to move closer to God if he wants to succeed in ruling Nigeria as the bombing and killing of innocent Nigerians under the cover of Boko Haram was obnoxious. The Chairman of International Council of Community Churches (USA), Nigeria chapter and the Supreme Head of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth Mission, King Olutanmole, who said this in Akure, asked Jonathan to return to God and ask for divine wisdom to enable him rule over Nigeria like King Solomon did in the Bible.According to him, the Boko Haram issue is a plaque of punishment from God, because of the enormity of sinful behaviours of Nigerian leaders. He said any nation that perpetually wallowed in sins would never enjoy peace of God, saying that the leaders of the country should seek the face of God at all times. The cleric said, 'If God is angry, He expresses His displeasure in diverse ways. For instance, in the days of Noah when He discovered that all the imaginations of man were not only continually evil but that they have also forsaken Him for immaterialities, He (God) was aggrieved and regretted that He created man in His own image and because of that ,He expressed His displeasure by wiping off the whole World and all living creatures on earth with flood in exception of those who entered the 'Ark of God'.' So, God might be expressing His displeasure in our sins through Boko Haram's incessant bombings. Therefore, it is very pertinent for Nigerians to retrace their steps back to God, particularly the number one citizen of Nigeria (Jonathan) before the entire nation is bombed'.
