Ebira Carnival sets for December

Creativity, glamour and panache will take centre stage come December 25, 2011 as the Kogi State Ministry of Culture and Tourism have endorsed the Ebira carnival 2011.The State's culture ministry is doing this in conjunction with the five local government areas in Kogi Central Senatorial District: Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okene, Ogori Magongo and Okehi. In a statement signed by the president of Ebira Rebirth Group, Mr Suberu. O. Nusa, the carnival will feature the contemporary carnival patterns with a mix of the Ebira cultural heritage, showcasing the rich culture of Ebira people and boosting their economy through tourism.In a related development, the 'Ohinoyi of Ebiraland', His Royal Highness, Dr. Ado Ibrahim received the carnival team in his palace and blessed the carnival team towards a successful carnival outing. In response, the LOC Chairman of the Ebira carnival, Alhaji Ismail Abubakar thanked the monarch for his consistent support for Ebira cultural upliftment and development in transforming the cultural heritage into tourist attraction.
