AFTER the international break and tales of the unexpected in various domestic leagues, visitors to the Heineken Champions Planet will be in for some exciting moments as action returns in the UEFA Champions League.The league enters day three this week with crucial matches in all the eight groups. Today, English Premiership leader, Manchester City, will aim to revive its UEFA ambition as it entertains Villarreal of Spain at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, while former European champion, Manchester United, after two consecutive draws, will aim for its first win when it visits Otelul Galati at the Stadionul National Arena, Bucharest.Visitors to the Champions Planet will also follow the proceedings of Real Madrid's quest for a third consecutive win when it hosts Olympique Lyon at the Santiago Benarbue just as Dynamos Zagreb marches against Ajax Amsterdam at the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb.Tomorrow, defending champion, FC Barcelona, will host Viktoria Plenz at the Camp Nou while AC Milan will aim to extend its minimal lead in Group H with another win as it hosts BATE Borisov at the San Siro Stadium in Milan.However, the star match of day three will come from the Stade Velodrome in Marseille, when Arsenal visits Olympique Marseilles in its quest for leadership of the group, while Olympiacos of Greece will host Borussia Dortmund in the other group match.Chelsea will also aim to continue its impressive run this season with a home tie against Racing Genk at Stamford Bridge in London while Bayer Leverkusen hosts Valencia at the Bay Arena in Leverkusen.It will be recalled that Heineken had earlier in the season launched its new campaign, 'Legendary Football,' which centred on two new films featuring five legends of the competition: Gianluigi Buffon, Rene Adler, Patrick Vieira, Clarence Seedorf and Ruud van Nistelrooy.In Nigeria, the Champions Planet continues to capture the imagination of visitors and consumers on match days of the season.The Senior Brand Manager, Heineken, Jacqueline van Faassen, explained that the brand would continue to offer fans in Nigeria the opportunity to experience legendary football by bringing the matches to all Nigerians through the renewed terrestrial TV sponsorship.'The Champions Planet has continued to offer more consumer-engagement by introducing other games like StarPlayer and Predict and Win, and through digital media we have been engaging the consumers more with the Heineken Facebook fan page, which is active with over 45, 000 Heineken fans,' she explained. 'Via this medium, we interact and invite fans for a legendary experience in the house.'The ongoing activation will end in December to resume in February when the knockout stages of the competition will resume.
