Yoruba leader in Kano tasks followers on reputation, integrity

ALHAJI Ganiyu Akanbi Bello, the life patron of Yoruba in Kano State, has charged members of the Yoruba community in the state to shun any act capable of denting the good image the race is noted for, saying good name is better than gold or silver.Making the appeal while speaking with Community News in Kano , Alhaji Bello, who also is the Chief Executive/Chairman of Criss Cross Enterprises Kano, said he was happy that his people were living in peace in their respective places of abode.According to him, though they may belong to different political parties, they did not allow that to cause disharmony or rancour among them.Alhaji Bello who also advised his people to cooperate with their neighbours in moving their respective places of abode forward socially and economically, said no contribution was too small to achieve the best for the people.Meanwhile, the Yoruba leader has commiserated with the people of Oyo State over the death of the former governor, Chief Kolapo Ishola, saying the man was great while serving the state.He also lauded the efforts of Oyo State indigenes towards the creation of a new state from the present Oyo State, saying a new state was long over due to be created from the present Oyo State.Bello added that already, the present Ibadanland has 11 local government councils, adding that if an Ibadan State is created, it would take government closer to the grass roots.
