Ikire people tasked on town hall project

Indigenes of Ikire Community in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, have been urged to finetune ways of completing the on-going Ultral-Modern Town Hall for the use of the ancient town.The Akire of Ikire, Oba Olatunde Falabi-Lambeloye 111, gave the advised while briefing Community News on the preparation towards this year celebration of Ikire Day in his palace.The community leader stated that, "Ikire Day is not to celebrate or worship Ifa or any other god, but to remember the day that Ikire was founded. This made us to focus on the completion of the town hall this year".Oba Falabi stated further, "the town hall was for long abandoned, but, we are now mandating all sons and daughters of the land home and abroad, as well as well wishers to come and donate generously so as to make sure that, this project is finally completed."The Akire also denounced the rumor that the day had been politicised, saying that, "this celebration is not a political programme, so everybody should come not minding their political affiliation, to the venue of the event, at the town hall in Ako, Ikire," he retorted.Oba Falabi who said that this year Ikire Day would be in low key, stated that, "this is because of the current happenings around the country.
