Restore our electricity supply, Makenikan residents beg PHCN

RESIDENTS of Makenikan area,Kumapayi, in Egbeda Local Government area of Oyo State, have appealed to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), to restore electricity supply to the area, following a damage done to the electricity transmission poles in the area about six weeks ago.Some of the residents, who spoke with Community News, stated that efforts had been made to change the situation as the landlords and tenants association in the area had contacted the authorities of the PHCN over the matter. Their efforts, however, have not yielded any fruits, as according to the residents, the PHCN has only been making promises that the problem would be solved.The entire Makenikan area in Kumapayi, the residents said, had since been in darkness, which has paralysed all commercial activities.Apart from throwing the area into darkness, the residents said the damaged poles which carry live wires, had constituted security threat to people.They, therefore, urged the PHCN authorities to quickly come to their rescue.
