Published by Guardian on Wed, 19 Oct 2011

NIGERIANS should thank the Iris Smart Technologies group, Interworld Nigeria Limited (Binatone), Geekay Nigeria Limited (Cash & Carry) and theIndia Cricket Federation(Lagos) for ensuring that Nigeria participated in the World Cricket League Division Six play-off held in Malaysia last month, the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) General Manager, George Wiltshire, has said.Nigeria placed fifth in the championship, but Witlshire revealed that the country would have missed the play-off if not for the financial support by the four organisations. Wiltshire revealed that Iris Smart Technologies supported the team's participation with a donation of N2 million in pursuit of its corporate social responsibility philosophy. He added: 'The firm, whose parent company is based in Malaysia, therefore, identified with Nigerian cricket and the country of its parent company.'Iris Smart Technologies is a long-time partner of Nigerian Cricket with its sponsorship of the Lagos Cricket Club Committee (CCC) League and Super Four, a sponsorship it has supported in almost 10 years.Wiltshire also gave kudos to Interworld Nigeria Limited (Binatone), Geekay Nigeria Limited (Cash & Carry) and theIndia Cricket FederationLagos, who supported the trip with donations of N100, 000, N200,000 and N50,000 respectively.Herevealed that with the support from Binatone, Cash & Carry and India Cricket Federation, the NCF has opened a mutually beneficial relationship with the two new corporate sponsors and India Cricket Federation, Lagos.
