For equity in state creation

Last week, the Governors of the South East geo-political zone of the country rose from a crucial meeting in Enugu and demanded for two additional states for the zone. Their demand, according to Mr. Peter Obi, the chairman of South East Governors' Forum and Governor of Anambra State, was based on the imperative of equalizing the number of states from each of the geo-political zones of the country. At present, the South East has the least number of states among the six zones.
