Be careful on Siasia 'Minister warns NFF

SPORTS Minister, Yusuf Suleiman, has called on the Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF), to exercise restraint as the body decides the future of Samson Siasia as the Super Eagles coach.Under Siasia's guidance, Nigeria failed to win a 2012 Africa Nations Cup ticket after finishing on 11 points behing Guinea's 14 in Group B of the qualifiers and feelers from the Technical Committee of the NFF which met last Thursday indicated that Siasia may be axed from the job.However, ratification of the decision of the Technical Committee is expected this week but Suleiman told brilafm yesterday that whatever the outcome the integrity of the country is at stake."It is not my business who they sack or employ,'' Suleiman said. ''But I have a responsible to this country to make sure that the right thing is done and whoever is responsible must listen to me and know that Nigeria cannot employ fire brigade approach to issues anymore''."We're in the transformation period and whatever we do, we should be able to justify it to the Nigerian public because they are the one who gave the president the mandate to run this country so the decision must be such that will be in the overall interest of the country,"Suleiman said.
