U.S. ambassador wants more government funding for Kano VVF clinic

IT WAS a reward for excellence recently at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), as Ismail Oluwatosin clinched the award for good and hygienic conduct at the maiden edition of the PZ ZIP nurse of the month award, jointly organised by PZ and LASUTH.The award, according to the organisers of the event, was poised at promoting good health and to maintain the ethics in terms of hygiene among nurses in the country.Speaking at the award ceremony, which was attended by heads of nurses and midwives at the LASUTH, the project coordinator of the event, Emma Oriakhi, of Good Health Organisation, said that the award was to assist the medical practitioners, most especially nurses to work in a conducive environment, as promoting good hygiene and healthy living among nurses in Nigeria could not be over emphasized.'The brand ZIP is used to wash dirt away, therefore spreading the message of cleanliness among nurses, at the same time displaying a high level of hygiene, hence, the berth of the award', Oriakhi noted.Oriakhi commended the efforts of nurses in LASUTH for their efforts towards contributing to the ethics of maintaining good and aesthetic working conditions in the hospital. 'The award is also poised at assisting and encouraging nurses in all ramifications to maintain and achieve high standard of services in terms of good and quality working environment,' he said.Starting from LASUTH, PZ has concluded plans to take the award to different hospitals in the country, as efforts to preach the message of good and healthy living among medical practitioners in all ramifications.
