Its natural assets, from the Table Mountain to its pristine beaches and diverse cultural offerings, give the city a distinctive feel. It is home of three of South Africas top universities, namely the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University and the University of the Westhern Cape, and a host of other tertiary institutions and research institutes. The city is the seat of South Africas parliament as well as the Westhern Cape Provincial Government. Its many historic sites, and its pivotal role in securing the countrys peaceful political transformationl, have ensured its stature as an international beacon of humanity and idealism.Cape Town is an accessible and convenient destination for international travellers.
