Oritaa, Odo-Ona Elewe residents lament over bad road

ROAD users and residents of Orita Challenge,Odo-Ona Elewe road have charged the Oluyole Council boss, Mr Abass Aleshinloye, to rehabilitate the road that is now causing ceaseless traffic snarl, particularly in the morning and evening.Also, the okada riders complained that the state of the road was really deteriorating and whenever there was a heavy rain, it was not a good sight to behold.According to Mr Isiaka Olufowobi, an okada rider, 'this road was once reported in Community News some months back, yet, nothing has been done about it. In the evening, it is always chaotic as both okada riders, bus drivers, private car owners and pedestrians struggle to access the road. The bike fare charged during the day time is different from that we charge at night, because of the hold-up. The appropriate authorities should please, repair this road.'According to Mr. Adetayo Aborisade, a private car owner, 'I have been living in this area for eight years now and this road has always been in this state. It is a major road that should have been repaired with utmost attention because it linked other areas like Oluyole, Odo-Ona, Apata, among others.'The government should not only ensure a quick face-lift, but, also use durable and quality materials so that it can stand the test of time.'Alao, Mrs John, a corn seller lamented that, 'the road is so narrow and bad, pedestrians can't even walk without a ceaseless glance over their shouldier in order to avoid the racing okada riders. Whenever it rains, everywhere is always full of mud and water puddles.
