Traditional rulers task council boss on road repair

Traditional rulers in Ife East Local Government Area of Osun State have sent an appeal to the chairman, caretaker committee of their council to repair their damaged roads and provide health centers for the residents.The appeal was made by the three community leaders during the end of 90 days environmental sanitation embarked upon by the state government.The Obajio of Moore in Ile-Ife, Oba Abdulyahya Akande Elugbaju-Oranmiyan 111, stressed that, "We have bad roads at Moore. For example, from Oja-Ife to Lokore, the bridge there is in a bad condition. In fact, anytime from now, the bridge will collapse. Already, motorists have been running away from passing through this bridge, in order to avoid any catastrophe that might happen while on it".In the same vein, the Baale of Ajo Okerewe, Chief Olabisi Odunlade, expressed his feelings towards the nonchallant attitude of the past regime which he said could not provide good roads for them.He said Iloro to Okerewe Hall roads were in bad shape.According to him, "This is the major road that connects Ife to Okerewe. So, I am using this medium to appeal to Ife East Local Government to come to our aid by rehabilitating this road,' he said.'Also, the rural roads that link the community are in bad shape. That is Okerewe, Reserve to Yekemi-Okerewe Ward 4 are all local government roads which need an urgent attention in order to have easy mobilisation of crops.'Also, the Onijudo of Ido, Oba Adeyeba Sikiru Adeniyi asked the Council to refurbish his palace.'All the traditional rulers asked for a good maternity health centre in their various domains, to curb unwarranted death.
