New Hyundai Elantra explains more innovations, strength

FORTIFIED with Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT), Hyundai has formerly unveiled new Elantra in Nigeria.Now in its 5th generation, Elantra also boast of all new family engines and transmissions coupled with what the automobile firm identified as 'exotic new technologies'.Unveiling the new Elantra in Lagos recently, Hyundai Nigeria Limited explained that every 2012 Hyundai Elantra is front-wheel drive and comes standard with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 148 horsepower and 131 pound-feet of torque.It explained that the engine is mated to a six-speed automatic/manual gearbox such that the extra gear (sixth) boosts fuel economy, adding that, there are two trim levels currently available in the market, the GL and GLS.Marketing Director, Hyundai Motors Nigeria, Mr. Kiran Parab, said; 'In a world of look alike sedans, Elantra is bold but elegant design sets it miles apart. Elantra now comes with a new engine and gearbox whose silky-smooth power delivery is as impressive as its fuel efficiency.Explaining further, Parab said, 'From the moment you take the wheel, you'll sense something special about Elantra: The car is an extension of you ' your hands, eyes and feet. All communications with the machinery is perfectly intuitive, indeed almost effortless ' communicating your wish as Elantra's command.''What's more, No prior instruction needed: Every switch, every control has been logically positioned and carefully thought-out to eliminate guesswork and fumbling, of course, that is the kind of feeling you experience when behind the wheels.'A comparatively familiar sedan, the first generation Hyundai Elantra made its foray into the global marketplace in 1990, debuting as 1990 to 1995 Model Year. From 1995 to 2000, the Korean automaker released the second generation Elantra.Between 2000 and 2006, the Korean automaker had returned to the drawing board to improve the product line, making the third generation Elantra. The fourth generation Elantra debuted as 2006 ' 2010 Model Year.New Elantra's list of standard safety features includes traction and stability control, antilock disc brakes, active front head restraints, front seat side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags, among others.
