NDE appoints new spokesperson, 9 directors

THE management of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has approved the appointment of Mrs. Olubunmi Ojo as the new Head of Information and Public Relations for the Directorate.Mrs. Ojo was until her new appointment the Deputy Director, Human Resources department at the NDE headquarters.According to a statement from the Assistant Director, Information and Public Relations, Mr. Ocheme Adoga, the appointment is a strategic move by the directorate to further strengthen its operations and consolidate on the transformation initiatives the NDE has been enjoying in the past three years under the leadership of the Director General, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed.The NDE also announced the appointment of nine new directors to bring the number of its directors to 14 and promoted 34 officers to the rank of deputy directors, and another 54 to assistant directors.The various appointments were amongst other categories of staff elevated following the conduct of a promotion exercise in September, last year.Addressing a meeting of the directors, the director general said the promotions were a consciously designed policy to reinvigorate the activities of the NDE nationwide.While congratulating the new appointees, he tasked them to be committed to the success of the NDE in programme implementation in line with the Federal Governments resolve to create employment opportunities for unemployed Nigerians.Mrs. Bunmi Ojo, a seasoned and consummate public relations practitioner brings on board, a varied and cognate experience of over 20 years, having joined the directorate in 1987 and was later transferred as an Information Officer to the Information and Public Relations Branch in 1989.
