Egbeda residents send SOS to police boss

Residents of Alhaji Tella Street, Egbeda in Lagos State, have pleaded with the state government and the State Commissioner of Police, to as a matter of urgency,  save them from the upsurge of robbery incidents in the community.They particularly want the Nigeria Police force to come to their aid by mounting surveillance on the community and its environs to stop the activities of robbers who, they said,  specialised in stealing  vehicles and snatching of valuable items at night from unsuspecting residents.The residents explained that their activities within the community had forced all landlords and landladies to mount security gadgets within their respective compound, but that their efforts were thwarted by the robbers.Speaking with the Community News  Ayodele Ashaolu, a resident, condemned outrightly, the rate at which he said, robbers operate within the community of recent.According to him, it had become a difficult thing to walk within the community with valuables like laptop, handbags and handsets whenever it was after 9pm.Speaking further, he explained that Pastor Olatunjis Toyota car was parked as usual in front of his house on Wednesday night when he returned from office, only to discover that on Thursday morning the car was missing.Although, he disclosed that the car owner had since reported at the police station, he however, said that that if nothing was done to bring to book the perpetrators of the evil acts, there were tendencies that the same set of people would still unleash worse terror on the residents of the community.He, however, appealed to the state government and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to find a lasting solution to the issue of security of lives and property in the community.
