Indigent students get councils free JAMB forms

Published by The Nation on Sat, 15 Feb 2020

Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State has distributed free Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to indigent students in the council area.Speaking at the presentation of the forms held at the council secretariat on Monday, chairman of the LCDA, Dr. Augustine Arogundade, said the gesture was to enable indigent students in the LCDA pursue their academic dream. He said: It worries me when I see brilliant students whose parents or guardians could not genuinely afford to send them to school. As a doctoral degree holder, I know the value of education and the places it can get you to or the accolades that it brings. This is why after the distribution of these JAMB forms, I will put machinery in place to monitor the results of the beneficiaries so that those with brilliant scores can be awarded scholarships to pursue their chosen course of study.Read Also:JAMB warns candidates: dont accept admissions not on our letterheadHe added: My administration is committed to seeing that our children get qualitative education and in a conducive environment that is why in October last year we renovated about five elected public primary schools within the LCDA covering the painting, roofing, provision of modern toilets facilities and boreholes. We organized competitions and seminars for pupils to broaden their knowledge and give room for socialization.
