Sunshine Stars of Akure on Sunday came from behind to beat title rivals Dolphins of Port Harcourt 3-2 in Ijebu Ode and move closer to clinch the title for the first time in their history.Both clubs were on 64 points before the match although Sunshine occupied the top spot because of their superior goal difference.The match started with the homers showing signs of scoring early but it was Dolphins that drew the first blood with Ghana star Owusu Addae scoring from Abduljaleel Ajaguns pass in the 22nd minute. With Sunshine goalkeeper Moses Ocheje beaten by the Ghanaian, it looked like the trophy was slipping out of their hands as Dolphins climbed to 67 points with the goal.Sunshine players poured forward however for the equaliser but after Precious Osasco missed a beautiful goal and Akombo Ukaeyima failed to utilise two opportunities, Cameroonian midfielder Temen Medranos effort was stopped by goalkeeper Rotimi Sunday.The home team finally found a way round the strong Dolphins defence as what looked like a harmless cross from Ukaeyima was headed in by Ajani Ibrahim before the interval.Dolphins tried to force their way back to the top but it was Sunshine who shot into the lead when Cletus Itodo powered in a fine goal in the 57th minute.Sunshine coach Gbenga Ogunbote was not satisfied with the contribution of Atanda Shakibu and he replaced the former Enyimba striker with Dele Olorundare.The newcomer justified the trust in him by scoring the third goal for Sunshine. But the lead was cut as Dolphins Emma Nwachi scored his sides second from the spot after Sunday Abe was adjudged to have impeded Johnson Olewesi in the box.In Ibadan, Shooting Stars made light their relegation battle after beating Heartland 1-0. With 44 points, Shooting are now in the 14th position. The surprise of the day came when Plateau United beat Kwara 7-0 in Jos.
