Appoint another coach for Eagles 'Babangida tells NFF

Published by Tribune on Tue, 25 Oct 2011

FORMER Super Eagles right winger, Tijani Babangida, has urged Nigeria Football Federation to appoint another expirienced coach as replacement for coach Samson Siasia who failed to qualify the Super Eagles for 2012 Nations Cup.Commenting on the failure of Super Eagles to qualify for Nations Cup he told Nigerian Tribunesports that 'the next thing for us is to appoint a new coach. It's just painful for now that the Nigeria Football Federation has not come out to tell Nigerians whether Siasia will remain as the coach of the Super Eagles or he will go.'He continued: 'Majority of Nigerian football fans do not want him to remain as coach. He failed in his last assignment in Egypt 2009 when he led Flying Eagles to Egypt 2009 U-20 Junior World Cup and he has failed once again.''The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) should not leave us in darkness if Siasia is going to stay, they should let us know and if it is the other way round, they should let us know too because other failed nations have acted fast concerning their technical advisers.''We need to act fast because the 2013 Nations Cup is around the corner likewise 2014 World Cup qualifier is around the corner, we have altered our style of football and the administration too is nothing to write home about.'If Samson Siasia does well, we will all stand up and congratulate him. But if he performs poorly like he has done, we have no reason to retain him. I still stand by my word he has to go and then we must be sincere with ourselves on rebuilding the team.
