Ikola community needs Fashola's intervention

RESIDENTS of Ikola have called on Lagos State governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola to come to the aid of the community by providing the necessary amenities to make life meaningful.Ikola is a boundary community between Lagos and Ota, in Ogun State . It is a developing area.Residents of the community lamented that the area was yet to benefit anything in term of social amenity from the state government. They lamented that Ikola-Ota road; a major road that links the community with the outside world, was in terrible state, begging for government intervention. They claimed that they, (residents) had written a series of 'Save Our Souls' (SOS) letters to the state government on the road.Apart from that, a resident, Alhaji Salawu Ayinde, also complained that the electricity supply to the community had been epileptic due to overloading on the transformer serving the community. 'We are not having government's presence here. Our roads are bad, our power supply is epileptic. We need more transformers to serve the community. Government should come to our rescue. The only transformer we are using was purchased through self help. We are like running our own government; we provide water, roads and other social amenities by ourselves.
