Ogun speaker assures Yewa-Awori of development

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Honourable Surajudeen Ishola Adekunbi, has assured the people of Yewa-Awori of the government's determination to develop the area.Adekunbi gave the promise recently when members of the Yewa-Awori Concern Professionals (YACP), a non-political group, paid him a visit at state Assembly Complex, Okemosan, Abeokuta.He told the group that Governor Ibikunle Amosun had approved the rehabilitation of Owode-Ilaro road, adding 'work will soon commence on the project immediately the rain supsidised'.'Governor Amosun had already approved the total repair of Owode-Ilaro road, thereafter, work will commence on the Aiyetoro-Imasayi axis and other areas in the Ogun West,' he said.Adekunbi enjoined members of YACP to use their clout and experience gained in their respective endeavours, not only for the progress of Ogun West, but Ogun state in general.He also commended the group for their efforts towards uniting the people of Ogun West with a view to developing the community.Hon Adekunbi assured the YACP of his unflinching support to their bid to improve the socio-economic of Ogun West.Contributing, a member of the state House of Assebly, representing Ado-Odo-Ota Constituency 2, Hon. Bankole Olusola, lamented the decline of Yewa-Awori people in politics, saying this had greatly affected the area, politically.Bankole noted that politics is about risk, adding 'whoever wishes to benefit from the game must be ready to take a risk.'He appealed to YACP to sensitise the people of Ogun West on the need to fully participate in politics with a view to meet ing up with other senatorial districts in the state.Earlier in his speech, the national President of YACP, Mr Biodun Akinde, disclosed that they were at the state House of Assembly to congratulate the speaker and his team on their success at the last poll and also to look at the area where the group could be of benefit to the legislators.He disclosed that YACP was formed on the platform of friendship and understanding with a view to promoting unity, peace, harmony and the development of Ogun-West, in particular and Ogun State in general.Akinde stated further that the group was a non-political group that consisted of professionals who have made marks in their respective trades.'We also want the Speaker and his team to look into the infrastructure in Ogun West that needs urgent attention. which include, re-commissioning of the Owode Modern Market for maximum use by the stakeholders, the underutilisation of Gateway Stadium, Ilaro as a result of lack of other social amenities, dualisation of Papalanto-Ilaro-Owode-Ado/Odo roads and Aiyetoro-Imashayi road, among others,' Akinde said.Countributing, the secretary-general of the group, Comrade Yinka Akinsanya said that as a bridge between Yewa-Awori people and the government, 'YACP want to assure Governor Amosun of our unalloyed and unflinching supports, and that of the people of Ogun-West till his tenure lasted as the number one Citizen of our beloved state.'The YACP entourage included, Mr. Biodun Akinde, Hon. Kunle Akinlade, Mr. Bayo Adeyemi, Chief Adesina Babatunde (Ade Babs), Mr. Akinyele Balogun, Otunba Kazeem Owonla, Elhadj Abu-Satar Idowu Hamed, Hon. Lanre Adebowale, Comrade Enitan Jonathan Engr. (Alhadji) A. Jimoh, Mr. Ayo Ayinla, Architect Tayo Ladipo and Comrade Olayinka Akinsanya.
