NIGCOMSAT hosts pre-launch marketing sensitisation conference in Lagos

AS prelude to the launch of its replacement satellite, NigComSat 1R, in December, Nigeria's premier communications satellite company, NIGCOMSAT will hold a series of road shows and interactive sessions with stakeholders in Lagos. This is a pre-launch marketing and sensitisation conference.The events slated for November 21, 22 and 23 will enable officials of the company interact and explain to participants what to expect from the satellite that has been moved to its launch siteExpected to feature major industry players including telecommunications, broadcast and Internet regulators among others, the three-day industry specific forum will address salient issues about the new satellite, features and what is there for telecommunications, broadcast, Internet and other ancillary stakeholders across a broad spectrum of the economy.Speaking on behalf of the Executive Director (Marketing) Mr. Abimbola Alale, team leader of the conference committee, Mr. Bala Mohammed, said the conference 'is certainly a dress rehearsal of things to come.'Lagos the economic capital of Nigeria will host the event, which is a follow up to the highly rated maiden stakeholders conference, which held last July in Abuja.Bala who is also deputy general manager (Administration) at NIGCOMSAT, further explained, 'we opted to take this edition to Lagos, because it's the hub of the economy and most of the key players in telecommunications, broadcast media and Internet service providers (ISPs) have their corporate headquarters in Lagos. We are taking the events to their doorsteps,' he added.The armed forces, the police, maritime and aviation industry practitioners will also feature in the conference.
