EGUAVOEN ASSURES ON EURO STARS

NIGERIA Olympic team coach, Augustine Eguavoen has said he has been assured by European clubs his players will be released for final qualifiers next month."The response from the club directors has so far been encouraging. Those who I have met have requested for some days to give us definite answers, but from their body language I am confident we would get a favourable response," stated Eguavoen.The coach will today head to Italy as he continues his tour of Europe for players to feature in the final Olympic qualifiers in Morocco fromNovember26.The Olympic team coach, who left the country last week in company of the NFF Technical Committee chairman, Chris Green, was in the Netherlands yesterday, where he met with the sporting director of PSV Eindhoven who have Rabiu Ibrahim on their books.He also visited VW Venlo to seek the release of Ahmed Musa, Alex Nkume, and Uchebo Okechukwu.According to the team's Media Officer, Arafat Aliu, the coach has already visited Sheffield Wednesday the club of Uchechi Daniel, where heot a re-assurance for the release of le player, and German club Mainz, which have requested for an invitation letter to be sent apart from the notification letter already received by the club.Eguavoen will on Wednesday hit Italy to see Nnamdi Oduamadi at Torino, Nwankwo Obiora at Parma and Daniel Adejo at Reggina.The Dream Team V coach is expected back in the country by the weekend.Nigeria are now in revised Group A with hosts Morocco, Senegal and Algeria and open the tournament against Morocco on November 26 in Tangiers.
