HOT SHOT ANEKE DROPPED FROM U-23 SQUAD

JOINT top scorer in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Jude Aneke has been left out of a 30-man side named by selectors of the Under-23 national team.Instead head coach, Augustine Eguavoen has opted to pick Sunday Nwadialu of Bangladesh's Mohammadan Sporting Club ahead of Aneke.Nwadialu, a late arrival to the Ibadan camp of the team is said to have impressed in training.Aneke, who has scored 17 goals for Kaduna United in the NPL this term, is a contender for the golden boot award alongside Ibrahim Ajani of Sunshine Stars and George Akpabio of Plateau United.Incidentally, Eguavoen had dropped the duo of Ajani and Akpabio from his team inprevious phases of preparation for the Olympic qualification.But Enyimba defensive midfielder, Mackson Oiobo makes the team.Other NPL players named in the 30-man squad are Monday Osagie, Emmanuel Anyanwu, Otekpa Eneji, Chinedu Udoji, Josiah Maduabucm and Kano Pillars' goal keeper, Theophilus Afelokhai.The Under23s continue their preparation for the 2012 Olympic qualifiers with a friendly match against non-league side, Westerlo.
