NFF meets on Siasia today

The board of the Nigeria Football Federation is expected to meet today in Abuja to decide if Samson Siasia will continue as the Super Eagles coach or get the sack for failing to qualify the country for the 2012 Africa Nations Cup. The NFF meets after keeping the country waiting for three weeks. The Nigeria match against Guinea was played on October 8 in Abuja.The technical committee of the Federation led by Mr. Chris Green deliberated on the next line of action six days after the match but the board did not meet since then as speculations reigned over the date of the meeting and the decision to be taken. It is not clear if the Alhaji Aminu Maigari-led board would accept the full recommendations of the committee or move in another direction.It was learnt that the technical committee recommended sack of Siasia or detail adjustment of his contract, including pay cut if he is allowed to continue.And while Nigerians waited on the NFF, former footballers also made public their interest to coach the team. Stephen Keshi, Sunday Oliseh and Daniel Amokachiall former teammates of Siasiaare the three people that have made move for the job. The NFF was said to have also reached out abroad for a new coach and technical director of the team.Siasia on his own has publicly apologised and pleaded to be retained.
