Banditry: Joint operations receives additional intervention in Katsina

Augustine Okezie, KatsinaThe joint operation team warming up to engage bandits terrorizing hapless villagers and rural communities in Katsina state, have received yet another 60 additional batch of Air force Special Forces in Katsina.The team were received by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations, Air Vice Marshal Charles Ohwo, said they are to join forces with the Operation Hadarin Daji to end banditry in the zone in the shortest possible timeHe further disclosed that the troops are part of the newly graduated Special Forces trained for such operations.He said their mission in Katsina State is a short and responsive one to end banditry as quickly as possible.READ ALSO:Joint operations will end banditry in Katsina in few daysAir vice Marshal Ohwo further noted that the forces have been duly briefed on the importance of the assignment urging them to carry it out with all sense of professionalism.He also said though other joint forces have commenced operations in the past 48 hours, this addition will bring another dimension to the fight against banditry in the Northwest zone as a whole.The Nation recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had in response to the outcry of the people of Katsina state against upsurge in banditry attacks, ordered the special intervention of the joint operations to smoke out the bandits as quickly as possible
