PRESIDENT of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari, is not pleased with the decision of Chief coach of the Dream Team V, Austin Eguavoen to invite 25 foreign-based players to the camp in preparation for the Eight-Nation CAF-organised Olympics play off in Morocco.Maigari told a Lagos-based radio station that the former Super Eagles coach has by his decision passed a vote of no confidence in home-based players."I don't want it to look as if I want to impose my idea on the coach but I don't subscribe to the idea of relying too much on foreign-based players. I am not a technical man but as the president of the NFF, I must ensure that things are in proper shape and that is why I have pushed the case to the technical committee to handle."The technical committee is made up of technocrats, ex-internationals and people who are knowledgeable about the game. They will deliberate on the list submitted by Eguavoen, but it's crazy for a coach to invite 25 foreign-based players to the camp. Does it mean back home, we don't have any quality player who can fit in'" Maigari asked. The National U-23 team will next month head for Morocco to play in the London 2012 Olympics qualifier.Meanwhile,NIGERIA'S National U-23 side, otherwise called the Dream Team V yesterday forced National League side, Ebiede Football Club of Lagos to a one-all draw.Following their one-nil defeat in the hands of Westerlo FC the previous day, the Dream team went straight to business dictating the pace of play from the start of the game.FC Ebiede's Abayomi Adebayo curled the ball over the two man wall of the Dream Team V into the far right of Dele Ajiboye's post for the game's first goal. The Dream Team levelled up in the 78 minute, when Ebeide's Olurunwa Adebanjo brought down Gbolahan Salami after his one two touches with Ganiu Oseni had beaten the defense line of the opponent.Adebanjo was shown the red card while Osas Okoro converted the spot kick.'This is a very good outing . Unfortunately the result doesn't reflect the play on the pitch but that's football for you. I commend the character of the boys after considering the goal. We have another game on Saturday, we believe that by then the boys would have understood themselves better' stated Coach Stanley Eguma after the game. The Dream Team V has so far recorded three victories, one defeat and a draw in Friendlies played at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium. The team will tomorrow face 36 Lions of Lagos.
