FORMER Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima has called for the total overhauling of the Technical Department of the Federation in order to put a stop to the dwindling fortunes of the game of football in the country.The football administrator who tried to avoid making comments on the present situation of Nigerian football however came out bluntly saying he had to do so for posterity sake. He also call on millions of Nigerians to rally round those who are handling the game now in other to forestall the total collapse of the game that have always brought the people of the country together as one and indivisible entity whenever a Nigerian national team was playing.'The technical Department is the engine room of a Federation, no doubt, because we are talking of people going there to see how they could effectively improve on the department technically. A lot of technical lapses have happened overtime. It is only the Technical Department which is very sound that can change that.'Not only the Technical Department but the entire place needs to be restructured in such a way that we get the right people to head the various departments there."We have had cases where players have been complaining of travel arrangements. We have to get people in that office that would be charged with the responsibility of ensuring that a proper arrangements in terms of the teams to fly to match venues are made.'All these need to be put in place. The structure has to be in place. We need to get the right people to do that. That was why we tried, when we were there (in charge of the Nigeria Football Association then) to employ people based on their qualifications."That was why we engaged a Nigerian consulting firm to handle this. We also advertised in the dailies and people were asked to apply for the job. The Consulting firm then picked the best candidates for the job for the Football Federation then.'This (process) was discarded when we left office and this I believe would have helped a long way in solving the problem. The Technical Department is a very important department for the development of football, there is no doubt about this, like wise other department too', the former Nigeria Football Association boss advocated.
