Onigbinde calls for divine guidance

Published by Tribune on Fri, 28 Oct 2011

FIFA/CAF Instructor, Adegboye Onigbinde has wished the Executive Board of the Nigeria Football Federation God's guidance in today's deliberations on the state of Nigerian football and the fate of Super Eagles Chief Coach, Samson Siasia. The football administrator advised that those in charge should put the interest of football first before they take decisions.'I sincerely wish the NFF God's guidance in their deliberations on Friday (today). Their final decision will go a long way in either killing or resuscitating football in the country and I wish them well in making the best decision that would eventually improve the game in the country', he prayed. He, however, warned the Federation not to quickly jump into conclusions on the Eagles' Chief Coach choice adding that names that are being peddled may not be the Messiah needed to salvage the team. 'I laughed when I read a lot of reports in the dailies about the likely candidates to replace Siasia if he is eventually sacked. But I will tell you sincerely that they are all birds of the same feather. Tell me who is better than Siasia among the three ex-Eagles peddled''Siasia has tasted the Eagles coaching job and he now knows where he failed and erred and he is in the best position to correct his mistakes and move forward from there. I am not saying the others are not good but for now the incumbent is better and preferable only if he can adjust and correct his mistakes,' Onigbinde offered.
