Ehigie Promises New Dawn For Edo Football

WHILE the national teams are reeling from the many defeats that have characterized Nigerian football in recent times, the Edo State Football Association (FA) has promised better days for the country's soccer.Speaking during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a marketing outfit, Neo Media and Marketing Ltd., at the FA's Benin secretariat recently, Edo FA Chairman, Abel Ehigie, said the new deal would aid the state in reviving its faded football culture, which in the 1980s saw it having about five teams in the Nigerian premier league.According to Ehigie, a retired referee, 'I want to use this opportunity to tell our people that we're determined to do everything within our powers to take Edo Football to the desired height.'Although he acknowledged that football was capital intensive, Ehigie promised that the partnership with Neo Media and Marketing would generate enough revenue for the various activities of the FA.He added: 'Football, we all know, is capital intensive and that is why we have to sign a reputable marketing outfit to source for funds, and I am positive that our partnership with them will yield results.'On his part, Ehi Braimah, the Chief Executive Officer of Neo Media and Marketing, Ehi Braimah, promised to apply his best to ensure that Edo football returned to its glory days.
