Sports minister wants Terry punished

Sports minister Hugh Robertson has demanded that the FA take strong action if it is proved that John Terry did use a racial slur towards Anton Ferdinand. An investigation has been launched into the incident that occurred during last Sundays Premier League clash between QPR and Chelsea. The allegations follow complaints from Manchester Uniteds Patrice Evra who claimed that he was racially abused by Liverpools Luis Suarez in their 1-1 draw at Anfield a fortnight ago, with both Suarez and Terry denying the accusations.Robertson feels that it is crucial the FA get to the bottom of exactly what happened, and that the necessary actions follow if Terry is found to be guilty. "Racism has no part in either our national life or sport so Im encouraged that this has come to light so quickly and the FA have launched an investigation," he told The Daily Telegraph. "Clearly if the allegations are proved, we dont know yet if they will be, but if they are proved I hope they will take appropriate action."
