Why I fly round the world for Kosovo's freedom

Kosovo declared unilateral independence from Serbia in 2008, which has not recognized a new state. Since then, Serbia lost a case at the International Court of Justice that ruled the secession did not breach international law. The ruling by the ICJ and the intercession of the EU and the US, to stop Serbians from invalidating the independence of its former Republic has been gaining ground. James Berisha, 37, of Pristina, Kosovo, departed in his single engine plane from El Paso, Texas to more than 30 countries to rally support for newly-independent Kosovo which officially became an independent country in February of 2008. To gain flight hours, the pilot took an over-eighty-hour flight from Fairbanks, Alaska, to Skopje, Macedonia. This time he is not in need of flight hours, instead funding his journey out of pocket so that he may talk to the people of South America and encourage them to recognize Kosovo's declaration of independence. He embarked on a similar trip to Africa, where he visited some countries, including Nigeria. Weekly Trust interviewed him:
