Access Bank exempts 30 customers from paying charges

Fifteen individuals and 15 corporate customers of Access Bank Plc have been awarded charges-free certificates by the Deposit Money Bank.According to the bank in a statement on Friday, the customers, by virtue of the certificate, will henceforth be exempted from the payment ofall forms of bank charges of the DMB for life.With this development, the lucky winners stand to enjoy exemption charges in any transactions made in the bank such as deposit, withdrawal, Automated Teller Machine, Visa requirement account details, Cost of Transaction, among others, the bank said.In addition, each winner gets a certificate in respect of the charges meant to be enjoyed for a whole lifetime.The Head, Product Management Team, Access Bank, Mr. Ejikeme Victor, said apart from rewarding customers loyalty, the Customer Engagement Campaign was to also reward customers unflinching connection with its product offerings.He noted that with the merger of Access Bank and Intercontinental Bank, winners in the campaign that had accounts in Intercontinental Bank would also be eligible to same privilege of charges-free transaction.Victor explained that the bank decided not to reward the winners with cash because it wanted more value creation for them, stating that it would be more beneficial for the customers in terms of savings and growth of their business.He said, This is about a life-long relationship and not about cash. Cash reward is finite but what we are doing to these customers that emerged winners is to empower them to create value by themselves. What they saved from the charges -free transaction could be ploughed back into the business. There is no limit to value.He further stated that the bank was committed in its resolve to reward consumers through other various innovative products and services, adding that the campaign was primarily for the bank to get information that would enable it relate with both old and new customers.Meanwhile, one of the past winners, the Managing Director, Timothy Niyi Auto Company, Mr. Timothy Demerin, said with the charges- free transaction, his company would save N500,000 annually.
