Published by Punch on Mon, 31 Oct 2011

ZYcomSurveillance in partnership with Hogan Guards is set to introduce its intelligent video surveillance system in Nigeria. The firm, in a statement signed by its President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gerald Alexander, said it would set up operations in Lagos by November.Alexander said ZYcoms team would visit Hogan Guards existing clientele to set up the equipment for compatibility with Nigerias infrastructure and ensure everything met with Nigerian voltage requirements. He said, Nigeria has been in my sights as a potential business venture for years. We will bring in the surveillance technology and provide our centralised monitoring platforms that will allow clients to have access to several applications, from card access and polygraphs to face and licence plate detection. Our system is proactive; it is not the average day-to-day playback DVR. Our system has analytic features that allow our clients to set up secure zones, virtual fences and missing and left objects.Meanwhile, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, HoganGuards, Dr. Kola Ibirogba, said, Nigeria, with a population of more than 150 million, is a strong market that is ready to receive the sophisticated 24 hour, 7-days a week Internet-based technology that ZYcom brings to the table.ZYcom will meet with several entities ranging from municipalities, oil companies and business owners, to hotels, corporations and schools, Ibirogba said. Both firms said the venture would boost the Nigerian economy by creating jobs for camera installers and video-tech monitors. In addition, purchasing supplies from local vendors and providing greater security services would impart value to the society, they added.
