Keshi dreams World Cup with Eagles 'Eagles get Zambia, Botswana test

FORMER Malian national team handler, Stephen Keshi has stated that his main dream is to lead the Super Eagles to the World Cup.In a telephone chat with Tribunesports from his US base, the big boss as he is called by his hoardes of admirers disclosed that he has for long looked forward to head the Super Eagles technical crew going by his desire to give his best to his fatherland.Although a new Super Eagles helmsman is expected to be announced this week by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) indications are rife that the appointment of the former Anderlecht of Belgium libero has been sealed.Keshi is due in the country this week to formalise the deal with the NFF having already held talks with the NFF Preesident, Alhaji Aminu Maigari.It was also gathered that Keshi might settle for ex international, Daniel Amokachi as one of his assistants as the duo were said to have already agreed to work together.Meanwhile,SUPER Eagles will engage Zambia and Botswana in friendly games as part of their preparations for the qualifying rounds of the 2013 Africa Nations Cup. The Nigerian side will play the first game against Botswana on November 12 with the second match against Zambia three days later.According to Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) vice-president Boniface Mwamelo, the match venue is yet to be decided by both countries, but the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said both games are to be played in Nigeria."Yes, it is true (about Nigeria's a friendly). It is more or less a done deal," Mwamelo said.Mwamelo said the team will assemble on November 10 ahead of the big clash against their old West African rivals.Top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have equally confirmed this match-up but said a few aspects of the game are still being worked out.Nigeria and Zambia last meeting was at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola in the quarterfinals in Lubango. The Eagles won 5-4 on penalties after it finished scoreless at full time.Botswana were the first country to qualify for the 2012 Africa Nations Cup, topping a group that also included Tunisia and Togo.The preliminary rounds of the 2013 Nations Cup start in January 2011 for Nigeria and other 2012 Nations Cup non-qualifiers.
