Oluyole LG revenue collection centre, an eyesore

The revenue collection centre belonging to Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, located at Moslim area, Ibadan, Oyo State, needs total rehabilitation.This was the concessus of some residents of the area who spoke with Community News the delapidating structure of the council at the Moslim area of Ibadan.The residents advised the authority of the council to begin immediate rehabilitation of the old building which the council still used as one of its revenue collection centres, stressing that the building structure was not only an eye-sore, but a death trap.A resident, Mr. Sola Ogunnaike, said, 'look at where the council called its revenue collection centre. As a human being, can you keep a goat or chicken inside this building' Yet, officials of Oluyole Local Government Area are still using the building. It is nothing but a death trap. We know the caretaker chairman of the council as a decent and pro-active person, but we are not expecting one of the property of the council to be wearing such an ugly and repulsive look,' he stated.Other residents of the area where the revenue collection office is located, also expressed displeasure at the deteriorating look of the building, saying it did not speak well of a council like Oluyole Local Government.Almost everybody that saw Community News when it paid a visit to the delapidating building said the council ought to have rehabilitated the structure long time ago or pull it down if they were no longer interested in using the building.Residents of the area, however, hoped that the caretaker chairman of the council would do something in no distant time to correct this abysmal anomally.
