The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria on Monday appointed non-executive directors for the three nationalised banks.AMCON, in a statement made available to our correspondent, said nine non-executive directors were appointed for each nationalised bank, making a total of 27 directors for the three banks.According to AMCON, the nominees emerged from an exhaustive process, which involved wide consultation and review.The statement said, With these appointments, the boards of the banks are now fully constituted. AMCON has charged that they now set a standard for good governance and efficiency. Please note that these appointments are still subject to final regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria.The statement added that the corporation was confident that the directors were well qualified to add significant value to the banks.The ono-executive directors appointed for Keystone Bank Limited are Mr. Niyi Akenzua, Mr. Adolphus Ekpe, Mr. Charles Chidebe Umolu, Mr. Yakubu Shehu, Mr. Mustapha Ibrahim, Brig. Gen. Aminu-Kano, Mrs. Maria Olateju Phillips, Mr. Yusufu Pam and Mr. Jacob Olusanya.For Enterprise Bank Limited, the non-executive directors are Mr.Sanusi Monguno, Mr. Ebenezer Foby, Mrs. Asmau Sani Maikudi, Mr. Lamis Dikko, Mr. John Aderibigbe, Mr. Garba Imam, Mr. Ogala Osaka, Mr. Ismaila Shuaibu and Mr. Ezikiel Gomos.The non-executive directors for Mainstreet Bank Limited are Mrs. Yabawa Wabi, Mr. Mohammed Gulani Shuaibu, Prof. Osita Ogbu, Mr. Joshua Ogunlowo, Mr. Abdullahi Sarki Mahmoud, Mr. Shuaib Idris, Mr. Shehu Saad, Mr. Chris Osiomha Itede and Mr. Ayo Ajayi.AMCON, which is the sole shareholder of the three nationalised banks had earlier appointed chairmen and chief executive officers for the three banks.A statement by the corporation had announced former Managing Director of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Mr. Jacobs Ajekigbe, as the new chairman of Keystone Bank, while Mr. Oti Ikomi was named as the banks managing director.Mr. Shehu Abubakar, Mr. Demola Adewale, Yvonne Isichei, Mr. Shehu Mohammed, and Mr. Raphael Ereyi were appointed executive directors.Former Managing Director of Unity Bank Plc, Mr. Falalu Bello, was also appointed the chairman of Mainstreet Bank, while Mrs. Faith Tuedor-Matthews was appointed managing director. Mr. Kola Ayeye, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Bello, Mr. Bolaji Shenjobi, and Mr. Roger Woodbridge were also appointed executive directors.Correspondingly, former managing director of Diamond Bank Plc, Mr. Emeka Onwuka, was appointed as Enterprise Banks chairman, while Mr. Ahmed Kuru was appointed its managing director.The banks executive directors are Mrs. Louisa Olalokun, Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Mr. Aminu Ismail, Mr. Niyi Adebayo, and Mr. Audu Kazir.
