AIbom APC appoints acting state chairman

Bassey Anthony, UyoThe All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom has appointed its acting state chairman following the sudden death of its chairman, Mr. Ini Okopido Wednesday.The acting chairman, Dr. Ita Udosen, the deputy chairman of the party, was appointed on Thursday during an emergency meeting of the State Working Committee of the party.A statement signed by the partys spokesperson, Nkereuwem Eyongekere said Dr. Udosen assumed the position of following the unexpected death of Okopido.Following the sudden, sad and devastating transition of our Chairman, Late Hon. Ini Titus Okopido yesterday August 05, 2020, the State Working Committee (SWC) of our Party met today in an emergency session at the State Party Secretariat and resolved as follows:READ ALSO:APC mourns as Akwa Ibom Chair Okopido diesThat based on Article14.2 Section iii of the Partys Constitution, the Deputy Chairman of the Party, Dr. Ita Udosen should hereby assume the position of the Acting Chairman henceforth.With the said resolution of the SWC today, August 06, 2020, Dr. Ita Udosen, the State Deputy Chairman is hereby appointed the Acting State Chairman effective Thursday, August 6, 2020.
