OBJ pays unscheduled visit to Amosun

FORMER president,Chief OlusegunObasanjo, on Monday, paid an unscheduled visit to the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.Obasanjo who was returning from a trip, stormed the Presidential Lodge, located within the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta, and was said to have held a closed door meeting with the governor.Speculations had it that Obasanjo was on a congratulatory visit to the governor, while other accounts had it that the former president was there to discuss certain issues bothering on the state with the governor.The meeting, it was gathered, lasted for well over 30 minutes, while details were not made known immediately to reporters.However, a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication to Governor Amosun, Mrs Funmi Wakama, said Obasanjo's visit to Amosun was to discuss community development and other issues relating to the Owu community.'Ex-President Obasanjo also took the opportunity to broach the issue of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Foundation (OOPL), which the Olowu of Owu, Oba (Dr) Olusanya Dosunmu, is the chairman of the governing board.Governor Amosun was unavoidably absent at the one year anniversary celebration of OOPL Theatre & Troupe on Sunday, October 30. He was scheduled to be the chief host, but was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa,' the statement read.The governor, who explained his absence at the event, thanked the former president and promised to support the development initiative in Owu community and socio-cultural advancement of the state in general.
